All questions

IT‑Career‑Gym is a platform for IT professionals and employers: it matches you with a partner for mutual mock interviews, offers quizzes on technologies and languages, a participant rating, and job and resume postings. It runs as two interfaces over shared data — the website and a Telegram bot.

You create a request: pick a direction (IT or a foreign language), a specialization, your own grade and the grade range for your partner. The system looks for a counterpart request that suits both sides and, once a pair is found, shows the contact in your account on the website (My subscriptions). You may also get an email or Telegram notification depending on your settings. You run the interview yourselves — time and format are up to you.

Click "Register" in the top menu, enter your name, email and password, and pick a role — specialist or employer. A confirmation code is sent to that address. You can also sign in with Telegram, in which case no password is needed.

No — Telegram is not required. Registration, partner search for mock interviews, vacancy matching, quizzes and the leaderboard all work on the website. When a pair or vacancy match is found, you see it in the header bell and in your account (My subscriptions, Match history). You can link Telegram in your profile for messenger alerts — it is optional.

The rating is the sum of points from quizzes, pet projects and matches. More practice moves you up. Reviews do not affect it.

The IT Career Gym guide on this site is free. The two architecture courses are on Stepik — price and access live there. On this platform you can open the list, find a mock partner, and take quizzes without buying a “course pack”.

The guide is how to run a paired mock: IT section, languages, a walkthrough checklist. Stepik hosts full courses on System Design and the C4 model. Different formats — we do not glue them into one “learning path”.

You can read the on-site guide and open Stepik without an account. Finding a mock partner or taking a quiz on IT Career Gym needs registration.

Do not leave it as a “read later” tab. Find a partner on the match page or run a quiz. System design sticks when you explain the diagram out loud.

Not yet — we do not draw empty cards for those roles. Security, FDE, and hiring are covered in the blog. If another real course appears, it will land in this list.

    Job Description Summary

    Rejoignez l'équipe R&D de GE Vernova en tant que pont technique entre la gestion de produit et le développement de produits.     Join GE Vernova’s R&D team as the technical bridge between Product Management and Product Development. As a Lead Application Engineer for Asset Performance Solutions, you will take customer needs and product requirements defined by Product Management and translate them into innovative algorithms, solution designs, and working prototypes that development teams can build. This is a hands-on individual contributor role within R&D with no people management responsibilities. It demands deep domain expertise in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Asset Performance Management (APM), and Asset Management, combined with a strong mathematical, statistical, and optimization foundation.

    The Lead Application Engineer will own the end-to-end solution design process—from receiving prioritized requirements and customer pain points through to delivering algorithm specifications and working prototypes ready for development handoff. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, with a methodical and structured approach to problem-solving and comprehensive understanding of asset reliability, maintenance optimization, and performance management principles.

    • Work with Product Management to receive and understand prioritized feature requirements and customer needs and collaborate with Development teams to ensure technical feasibility and smooth handoff of solution specifications and prototypes.
    • Author technical white papers, solution briefs, and present materials at industry conferences to establish thought leadership in asset performance management and reliability engineering.
    • Influence technical direction through data-driven recommendations, competitive analysis, and domain expertise to inform product strategy decisions made by Product Management.
    • Identify opportunities for patentable innovations in asset performance analytics, predictive maintenance algorithms, and optimization techniques to strengthen GE Vernova’s Intellectual Property portfolio.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to development team members on domain concepts, algorithmic approaches, and solution architecture.
    • Analyse market trends, industry standards (ISO 55000, IEC, RCM frameworks), and customer requirements to propose new algorithmic capabilities and product enhancements for GE Vernova’s Asset Performance Management solutions.

    Education and experience required

    • Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or related quantitative discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent knowledge or experience.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in R&D, algorithm development, or solution engineering roles. Minimum of 3 years working at the intersection of product management and engineering/development teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
    • Extensive domain experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Asset Performance Management (APM), and/or Asset Management within asset-intensive industries (utilities, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing).
    • Strong proficiency in Python and Java, with hands-on experience developing algorithms, data pipelines, or analytical tools.
    • Solid foundation in mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and optimization techniques (e.g., linear/nonlinear programming, Bayesian methods, survival analysis, Monte Carlo simulation).
    • Proven track record of publishing, presenting at industry forums, and influencing product direction through technical thought leadership.
    • Familiarity with industry standards relevant to asset management and reliability (ISO 55000/55001, PAS 55, IEC 60300 series, SAE JA1011/JA1012 for RCM).
    • Knowledge of modern Asset Performance Management platforms, predictive analytics trends, and digital twin / condition-based maintenance developments.

    Как управлять подписками на поиск партнёра

    В «Моих подписках» хранятся заявки на поиск пары для мок-собеседования: специализация, свой грейд и диапазон грейда партнёра. Подписку можно поставить на паузу или удалить — грейд на карточке не редактируется.

    Новую заявку с другими грейдами собирают в разделе поиска партнёра. Каждая карточка показывает, идёт ли поиск, и можно ли повторять уже найденных людей.

    Когда подписка находит партнёра

    Найденные люди открываются из карточки заявки. Прошедшие моки и отзывы живут в истории собеседований. Собеседование вы проводите сами — платформа нужна для мэтча и напоминаний.

    Куда писать о мэтче — почта, Telegram или оба канала — настраивается в профиле. Пока подписка активна, можно получить короткое напоминание, что заявка ещё ищет пару.

    Форматы квизов на IT‑Career‑Gym

    На платформе можно проверить знания по Backend, Frontend, DevOps и другим специализациям. Экспресс — 5 вопросов, глубокий — 20, тематический — 15. Число вопросов вручную — только в расширенном режиме.

    Экспресс подходит для разминки перед собеседованием, глубокий — для системной оценки, тематический — чтобы закрыть конкретный пробел. Сложность подстраивается по ходу: после верного ответа следующий вопрос сложнее. Часть вопросов — свободный текст. Результаты попадают в историю попыток и влияют на рейтинг.

    Откройте экспресс, глубокий, тематический квиз или историю попыток. Расширенный режим на этой странице позволяет выбрать блок и число вопросов вручную (до 50). Рейтинг снижается, если копировать вопрос или уходить со страницы.

    Как заработать XP и удержать стрик?

    Закройте карточки дня — за каждое задание начисляется бонус XP. Стрик растёт, если вы активны каждый день. Пропуск дня сбрасывает серию. Энергия списывается только за старт обычного квиза.

    Нужно ли платить за челленджи?

    Нет: задания бесплатны для специалистов. Super даёт безлимит энергии на квизы, но не прячет челленджи. У работодателей челленджей нет.
