A genuinely useful tool! I quickly found a practice partner, we rehearsed typical questions and tough cases together. Prep was efficient and low-stress — and it ended with an offer! Huge thanks to the creators; the bot really helps build skills and confidence before interviews. Highly recommend! 🚀
Thank you 🙏 It really helped with prep and landing a job 🔥
An absolute gem! 🔥 Saved my interview prep. Studying alone is hard; with a partner it feels like a real interview. We drilled algorithms, debated architecture, and fixed each other's mistakes. I felt much calmer walking into the employer meeting. Result: offer received! If you're tired of prepping in a vacuum — try it! 🙌
Great bot! Helped me find a partner for IT interview prep. Studying together was far more effective, and I passed the interview and landed a job. Thank you ☺️

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most popular questions about the IT‑Career‑Gym platform
IT‑Career‑Gym is a platform for IT professionals and employers: it matches you with a partner for mutual mock interviews, offers quizzes on technologies and languages, a participant rating, and job and resume postings. It runs as two interfaces over shared data — the website and a Telegram bot.
You create a request: pick a direction (IT or a foreign language), a specialization, your own grade and the grade range for your partner. The system looks for a counterpart request that suits both sides and, once a pair is found, shows the contact in your account on the website (My subscriptions). You may also get an email or Telegram notification depending on your settings. You run the interview yourselves — time and format are up to you.
Click "Register" in the top menu, enter your name, email and password, and pick a role — specialist or employer. A confirmation code is sent to that address. You can also sign in with Telegram, in which case no password is needed.
No — Telegram is not required. Registration, partner search for mock interviews, vacancy matching, quizzes and the leaderboard all work on the website. When a pair or vacancy match is found, you see it in the header bell and in your account (My subscriptions, Match history). You can link Telegram in your profile for messenger alerts — it is optional.
The rating is the sum of points from quizzes, pet projects and matches. More practice moves you up. Reviews do not affect it.

FAQ
Price, Stepik vs our guide, signup, and what to do after a course.
The IT Career Gym guide on this site is free. The two architecture courses are on Stepik — price and access live there. On this platform you can open the list, find a mock partner, and take quizzes without buying a “course pack”.
The guide is how to run a paired mock: IT section, languages, a walkthrough checklist. Stepik hosts full courses on System Design and the C4 model. Different formats — we do not glue them into one “learning path”.
You can read the on-site guide and open Stepik without an account. Finding a mock partner or taking a quiz on IT Career Gym needs registration.
Do not leave it as a “read later” tab. Find a partner on the match page or run a quiz. System design sticks when you explain the diagram out loud.
Not yet — we do not draw empty cards for those roles. Security, FDE, and hiring are covered in the blog. If another real course appears, it will land in this list.

Job Description
Software Release Manager, Asset Services
Get To Know Us 7
Company Overview
SS&C is a global provider of investment and financial services and software for the financial services and healthcare industries, and employs more than 27,000 people in offices in 35 countries across the globe.
SS&C GIDS Asset Services APAC is predominantly located in Melbourne, Sydney , Thailand and India . We are the largest provider of Transfer Agency services in the region , providing an Investor, Advisor, Fund Manager and Custodian end to end service offering.
Reports to : Head of Engineering – Asset Services (GIDS APAC Asset Services Engineering)
Location: RSU Tower Bangkok, Thailand
What is the opportunity?
We are looking for an experienced Software Release Manager to own the release process for all software releases of our Transfer Agency platforms within GIDS APAC Asset Services Engineering. These are large, complex enterprise platforms made up of many versioned products, components and services that are deployed together into shared environments, often with integrations to third-party and other externally managed products across SS&C.
This is a key role in enabling us to deliver software reliably, predictably and safely at scale. It is both a technical and non-technical role, but leans towards coordination, communication and stakeholder engagement – bringing order and confidence to how we plan, sequence and ship releases across many moving parts.
You will join a friendly and collaborative team that values mutual respect, continuous learning and a supportive, well-balanced working environment.
As Software Release Manager you will own the release calendar, manage dependencies and conflicts across teams, and take accountability for the quality of our release procedures, release notes and version management. You will work closely with engineering teams on release planning and automation, and you will be a driving force behind simplifying our environments and versioning so that releases become smoother and lower-risk over time. You will lead this work largely through influence – through trust, clear communication, strong facilitation and a collaborative approach – rather than direct authority over the teams involved.
AI is central to how we work. This is a big job, and using AI is essential to doing it well. You will bring AI tooling into every part of your day – planning, coordination, release notes, risk analysis, version mapping and stakeholder communication – and you will continually look for new ways to let AI carry the load so you can focus on judgement and engagement.
Why You Will Love It Here!
- Flexibility: Hybrid work model (6 days in the SS&C office per month) and a business casual dress code, including jeans. Centralized location—a 6-minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS station or a 10-minute walk from Sukhumvit MRT station.
- Work/Life Balance: Flexible Personal/Vacation Time Off, Sick Leave, Paid Holidays, Business Leave, Maternity Leave, Ordination Leave
- Your Wellbeing: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Annual Health Check-Up, Employee Assistance Program, Parental Leave, Well-Stocked Pantry, and Provident Fund Contribution
- Diversity & Inclusion: Committed to Welcoming, Celebrating, and Thriving on Diversity
- Training: Hands-On, Team-Customized, including SS&C University
- Education: Paid further education opportunities for eligible employees
- Extra Perks: Bonus Scheme, SS&C Stock(s) Allocation for eligible employees
Who you'll work with
This role sits at the centre of release activity and works across many groups. You will work most closely with Delivery Managers and the IT Service Delivery Lead, and regularly with Infrastructure and SRE teams, IT Service Delivery Managers, Engineering Managers, and business and product stakeholders. There may be some client-facing interaction, although most client communication will flow through the IT Service Delivery Lead. As SS&C is a global company, you will regularly work with colleagues across different time zones.

Key accountabilities
- Own the release process – take end-to-end ownership of the release process for all Transfer Agency platform software releases, from planning through to deployment and post-release review.
- Own the release calendar – maintain a clear, forward-looking release calendar and coordinate release windows across multiple teams, platforms and time zones.
- Manage dependencies and conflicts – identify , sequence and resolve dependencies and conflicts between releases so that changes land safely and in the right order.
- Safeguard version integrity – perform version management across all environments, manage the sequencing of upgrades and maintain the version dependency mapping so that environments never end up with conflicting versions.
- Own release procedures – be accountable for the quality of release procedures, ensuring they are complete, reviewed and correct, even where others are the authors.
- Own release notes – own the creation and distribution of clear, accurate release notes for each release.
- Drive simplification – lead the drive towards simpler environments and versioning, reducing complexity and risk over time.
- Advance release automation – work with engineering teams to strengthen continuous delivery pipelines and release automation.
- Champion AI-powered ways of working – leverage AI across the role to plan, coordinate, document and communicate, and encourage its adoption to lift the pace and quality of releases.
Role responsibilities
Release planning & coordination
- Own and maintain the release calendar across the Transfer Agency platforms, coordinating release windows, freezes and blackout periods.
- Work with engineering teams on release planning – defining scope, readiness criteria and sequencing for each release.
- Identify and manage cross-team and cross-platform dependencies and conflicts, sequencing releases to avoid collisions.
- Coordinate upgrades that involve integrations with third-party or externally managed products within SS&C – for example where API connections exist between the platform environment and another managed product.
- Facilitate release readiness reviews and go/no-go decisions with the relevant stakeholders.
Version & environment management
- Perform version management across all environments and manage the sequencing of version upgrades.
- Maintain the version dependency mapping and actively prevent conflicting versions from being introduced into any environment.
- Drive the simplification of environments and versioning to reduce complexity, cost and risk.
- Maintain clear traceability from build to environment so the state of every environment is always known.
Procedures, release notes & documentation
- Be accountable for the quality of release procedures – ensuring they are authored, reviewed and correct, without necessarily being the subject-matter expert who writes them.
- Own the creation and distribution of release notes for every release.
- Maintain accurate , up-to-date release documentation and runbooks as a single source of truth for release state.
Release automation & continuous delivery
- Partner with engineering teams to design, build and improve continuous delivery pipelines and release automation.
- Encode approval gates, promotion and validation into pipelines to make releases more repeatable and lower-risk .
- Apply sound CD fundamentals – artifact and version management, environment promotion, and progressive deployment and rollback strategies such as blue-green, canary and rolling releases – to raise release quality.
- Champion reproducible, identifiable releases – so that every environment's contents can be traced to a known build, and older releases can be reliably rebuilt.
Stakeholder management & communication
- Act as the central point of contact for release status, providing clear, business-level communication to stakeholders at all levels.
- Work closely with Delivery Managers and the IT Service Delivery Lead to align releases with delivery and service commitments.
- Manage expectations on timing, sequencing and risk, discussing and agreeing priorities together where needed.
- Support client-facing communication where required , typically through the IT Service Delivery Lead.
AI-powered ways of working
- Use AI extensively to plan, coordinate, generate release notes, map version dependencies, assess release risk and draft stakeholder communications.
- Encourage the adoption of AI tooling across the teams involved in releases to improve pace and quality.
- Stay current with emerging AI release-management practices and role- model their responsible, effective use.
Risk & continuous improvement
- Identify release risks early and work with teams to shape and carry out mitigation and rollback plans.
- Run post-release reviews and use delivery metrics – such as the DORA measures (deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate and time to restore service) – to drive steady improvement in predictability, quality and pace, using them to improve the process rather than to compare individuals or teams.
What You Will Bring 12
Skills and competencies
- Release management expertise – strong background owning software releases in large, complex enterprise environments made up of many versioned components and services.
- Continuous delivery knowledge – deep, practical knowledge of CD fundamentals is required , including continuous integration, artifact versioning, environment promotion, and progressive deployment and rollback strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling); hands-on experience designing and building continuous delivery pipelines is highly desirable.
- Tooling – experience with release and deployment tooling such as GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy ; experience with any comparable CI/CD platform is valued alongside strong CD fundamentals.
- Version & dependency management – proven ability to manage versioning across multiple environments, sequence upgrades and maintain a clear dependency map that prevents conflicts.
- Coordination & organisation – able to juggle many parallel workstreams with meticulous attention to detail and a calm, structured approach under pressure.
- Leading through influence – able to align and motivate teams towards safe, on-time releases through trust and collaboration, without direct line-management authority.
- Stakeholder management – proven ability to manage and align diverse stakeholders, including delivery, infrastructure, SRE, service delivery, engineering and business teams.
- Communication skills – excellent written and verbal communication, able to liaise confidently with technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organisation .

- Risk & dependency management – ability to identify , communicate and mitigate release risks and manage cross-team and third-party dependencies.
- Integration awareness – experience coordinating upgrades across integrated and third-party or externally managed products, including API-connected systems.
- Financial services context – experience delivering in financial services or similarly complex, regulated environments is an advantage; knowledge of mutual funds or transfer agency is a plus.
We strongly encourage people to apply even if they don't meet every single requirement of this role.
Education and qualification 5
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a Release Manager, Release Engineering, DevOps, or equivalent role responsible for releases in complex enterprise environments – suited to a senior, lead or principal-level practitioner.
- Practical knowledge of continuous delivery fundamentals is required ; hands-on experience building CD pipelines ( e.g. GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with a recognised change and release framework is valuable – for example ITIL change enablement, or a scaled-agile release role such as SAFe Release Train Engineer.
- ITIL, SAFe ( e.g. Release Train Engineer) or DevOps/cloud certification is an advantage.
Working arrangements
Releases occasionally run outside standard business hours, so a degree of flexibility around release windows is expected – balanced by a supportive team and a focus on well-being. As part of a global organisation , you will also collaborate regularly with colleagues across different time zones.
Key behaviours 6
- Instils Trust – contribute to building a safe learning environment in the business where the team can be listened to and understood.

Vacancy matches
Filters → a search request → matching. We notify you when a job fits.
Sign in to create a vacancy search request. How matching works is explained below, no account needed.
How vacancy matching works
IT‑Career‑Gym looks for jobs against your request: role, stack, grade, work format and city. You can still browse the job catalogue — the request keeps working when an employer posts something new.
Applications send your base resume. The platform does not call HR for you: match, notification, vacancy card — you decide whether to apply.
Requests and notifications
Active requests live under My searches: pause them without dropping history. Matched jobs collect in a separate list — handy after a few notifications.
Email, Telegram, or both — pick a channel in your profile. While a search is running you may get a short reminder that the request is still on.

How to manage vacancy search requests
My searches holds your requests: role, stack, grade, format and city. Pause a request and the matched jobs stay in history.
A new filter set is built under vacancy matches. Each card shows whether search is running and how many jobs already fit.
When a request finds a job
Matched jobs open from the request card and also collect in match history. Applications send your base resume — the platform does not call HR for you.

Find a mock interview partner
Step-by-step partner matching for a practice IT or language interview
IT‑Career‑Gym helps you find a partner for a practice interview: pick a track (IT or languages), specialization, your grade, and the grade range you want. The system searches website and Telegram requests and notifies you in the account bell when a pair is ready.

Quizzes

IT‑Career‑Gym
Daily challenges
Three tasks for today. Tomorrow a different set: quizzes, matches, resume, a pet project or a referral.
IT‑Career‑Gym?

Reviews
An absolute gem! 🔥 Saved my interview prep. Studying alone is hard; with a partner it feels like a real interview. We drilled algorithms, debated architecture, and fixed each other's mistakes. I felt much calmer walking into the employer meeting. Result: offer received! If you're tired of prepping in a vacuum — try it! 🙌
A genuinely useful tool! I quickly found a practice partner, we rehearsed typical questions and tough cases together. Prep was efficient and low-stress — and it ended with an offer! Huge thanks to the creators; the bot really helps build skills and confidence before interviews. Highly recommend! 🚀
Great bot! Helped me find a partner for IT interview prep. Studying together was far more effective, and I passed the interview and landed a job. Thank you ☺️

Telegram.
IT‑Career‑Gym?
