• Own end-to-end quality for Clash Royale's new game modes — from early prototype through live release and iteration.
• Work with Core Tech QA on the technical layer beneath the modes — release, performance, backend and SDK quality are owned there, keeping your focus on gameplay correctness and player experience, and surfacing mode-specific risk on shared systems like matchmaking.
• Plan and execute tests with no explicit requirements, taking the initiative to analyse the product and goals, and determine the areas of risk and best tests to mitigate those.
• Work directly with mode teams in both Shanghai and Helsinki to understand test scope early, agree on quality bars, plan resourcing and timelines, and ensure the final delivery meets them.
• Scale testing coverage by managing onsite QA testers and external QA vendors – briefing, prioritising, quality-checking their output, and flexing capacity as the mode pipeline moves.
• Design, develop and apply testing processes for our games to improve game quality and player experience.
• Raise the bar across the wider team – bring proven practices from the Chinese games industry into a global studio, and share them with Helsinki-based colleagues.
• Stay up to date with new testing tools, test strategies and AI tooling adoption to QA work.
• Support the development of the game with any additional skills.

What You Have

• At least 8 years of professional experience as a Game Tester, ideally with experience working on both new and live games.
• Strong hands-on experience in testing games – we want a person who loves to do the hard work.
• Proven experience owning quality for a feature or game area end-to-end, including the final quality call before release.
• Experience managing both onsite QA teams and external QA vendors, and scaling test coverage up and down as needed.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin. English is the working language with our Helsinki teams and some Shanghai team members, so you will need to be comfortable running test planning and scope discussions in English, in writing and in person.
• A fast learner, comfortable getting productive in an unfamiliar proprietary codebase – Clash Royale runs on Titan, Supercell's own in-house engine.
• Practical experience using AI tools to improve QA efficiency, such as AI-aided automated test flows, or a clear appetite and aptitude for building that into how you work.
• Good knowledge of iOS and Android ecosystems, experience in testing games on both platforms.
• Good understanding of the quality risks that live competitive systems carry – matchmaking, fairness, progression and reward economies – which modes inherit regardless of genre.
• Proactive doer who takes responsibility and pride in their own work when given the freedom to work independently.
• Strong cross-discipline communication skills.
• Being a great teammate - we believe making games is a team sport.

Would Be Nice if You Also Have

• Leadership or mentoring experience.
• Hands-on test automation experience, including scripting and CI-integrated test suites.
• Experience working in a distributed team across time zones.
• Experience testing across a range of game genres and formats – the mode portfolio is deliberately varied, so breadth adapts better here than depth in any single genre.

Most senior QA roles inherit a process. This one doesn't. Clash Royale's mode portfolio is new, growing, and built across two studios, which means the testing practice for it is still being written – and you'd be the one writing it. You'll set the quality bar for modes that reach tens of millions of players, decide how testing scales as the pipeline grows, and shape how QA works between Shanghai and Helsinki rather than fitting into someone else's version of it. If you've built QA practice before and want to do it again with real reach, this is that role.
